Well today's is obviously to write about your best friend, but that gives me a problem. I have more than one best friend. I have VA best friends, PA best friends, all time best friends, old best friends, family best friends.. you name it! And the over all best friend is of course God! So instead i am going to write about things that i am happy to have in my best friends, qualities that they hold that make them special. I may pull a few out of the bunch and talk about particularly although i find it not fair to all of them, but it would take tooooo long to list them all!
One of the things that i find the most important to have in a best friend is that there is not judging on beliefs. My best friends i have today do not judge me for my religion, or question or push me aside for it. Instead they embrace it and share it with me, or at least acknowledge it! Other things that we all seem to have are sharing likes for the same music and understanding for silly things!!
my VA besties, Becca and Hilary, and i share all of the above most def. It's almost scary sometimes i will admit!( and i am sure my husband will agree) We have random understandings of each other. The friend that you can see someone walking past and look at each other and just " know" what the other was thinking. We usually get hungry for the same things too haha. Even obsessing over the same favorite color in some cases.
Something that i am thankful for in my other best friends that do not reside in the same state is the ability to pick things off where they left off. Mere and Sley are two from PA that are like that. We can go weeks, even months sometimes without talking and when we do we just pick it right back up. All of us have completely different schedules and our own lives that don't include each other physically being there, but that has never changed our relationship. They were two of the people who didn't discard me when i moved off and married a Navy man. We may not have a huge amount of things in common, but we have always been there for each other.
Then there is the best friend, ie my husband :-) It's amazing to have someone that literally knows each step before you take it. Sometimes i think wives forget how their husband is the ultimate best friend too. He knows what your favorite things to eat are, and the ones that you hate. He also knows all of your little quirks, the good and the bad ones. Sometimes i feel bad for the guy! haha
